Overview
About Me
Hey all. I'm an American living in Malawi for two years working as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I have a Bachelors degree in music, I'm currently working in community health development, and starting this fall I'll be going back to school to get a Law Degree. I'm in my twenties and am just trying to make sure each and every day is and adventure and a chance for discovery: about my self, the world, and the wonderful people I cross paths with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel, meet new people, and hopefully once I settle down again, host some new people!
Interests
I love traveling (duh), wine tasting, beaches, hiking, swimming, museums, meeting new people, curling up in a corner and reading a new (or old) book, taking pictures of sunsets, eating chicken nachos with queso, airports, a good micro brew draught, skyscrapers, old churches, trying new foods, train rides and walking down deserted streets with new (or old) friends late at night.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have eclectic tastes.
Music-wise, I'm a classically trained French hornist who has a soft spot for the Russians (Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Mussorgsky...) but I love me some pop tunes from Bastille or Taylor Swift, or the indie/emo bands of the early oughts (Death Cab For Cutie, Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack...), throw in some modern show tunes (Book of Mormon, Bare: a Pop Opera), hip hop (Frank Ocean, Eminem, Mackelmore...) and some classic rock (Queen and The Beatles) and I'm basically down for anything you throw at me. Oh, and I love me some crooning Ella Fitzgerald.
Recent favorite books, in no particular order: Cloud Atlas, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Middlesex, The Great Divorce, The Positronic Man, East of Eden, Memoirs of a Geisha, It, A Curious Case of the Dog in the Night Time, Haunted, and No god But God.
I love movies! Too many to list, but pretty much every genre except American comedies. I have a soft spot for Nordic films, LGBT films, Zombie flicks, and Documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My most recent adventure was bungee jumping 100 meters off a bridge at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A warm smile and a friendly guest. I love to help cooking although I'm not a whiz in the kitchen, I make a better vegetable chopper and sauce stirrer. But I'm great at doing the dishes! I have plenty of travel stories whether you're looking for fun, exotic, wholesome or debaucherous. If you ever come to the states after I get settled in to law school, you're more than welcome to crash on my couch. Oh, and I give a great back massage :)
