About Me

Once, a friend asked me what I wanted for my life. I answered: "I want to be happy". And I try to be happy working for happiness of other people. We can talk about it in Buenos Aires.

I always smile. I think I am funny, talkative and very curious. You should know I would ask you a lot about your country. I like travelling and meeting people too.

After studying Journalism I did a Master in Political Sciences and Sociology. Now I am doing my PhD in Social Sciences. So it will be a pleasure talking to you about Argentina and Latinoamérica.

I hope you like beer. And I hope you try "mate" and "fernet".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people from other countries and cultures.

Interests

First of all, beer with friends and pubs. In Argentina we love soccer and I am fan of Boca Juniors.

I know it sounds a little nerd but I also like Social Sciences and Journalism.

And writing! Here is my blog: http://diariosdeunprincipito.blogspot.com.ar/

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot but the book which marked me is "Le Petit Prince". I try to read it once a year. About Social Sciences, you should read "Quaderni del carcere" by Antonio Gramsci and "Pedagogía del oprimido" by Paulo Freire.

Lots of movies but my favourite is "Cinema Paradiso".

In Buenos Aires we can dance cumbia music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pETP9DBglNU

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Between other topics, I study Indigenous Peoples.

In 2012, I did field work for three months in Bolivia for my master thesis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3_d5M9wQCA

Last year I travelled to México. I lived one week with Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional. If you speak Spanish here there is a column: http://www.perfil.com/internacional/Como-es-la-escuelita-revolucionaria-de-los-zapatistas-en-Chiapas-20140121-0030.html

Finally, some months ago I lived with guaraníes from Argentina: http://diariosdeunprincipito.blogspot.com.ar/2015/03/los-mbya-guarani-entre-las-raices-y-la.html

Teach, Learn, Share

I am professor. I teach and I learn all the time. In University I give classes of Journalism, Social Communication Theory and Sociology (I give a seminar about "Education in the frame of Posmodernity").

However, I am specialist in Plurinational State of Bolivia and Indigenous Peoples. Here is a disertation in a Conference we organize in University: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM4_oY7avSQ

Finally, I study the thinking of Antonio Gramsci.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, Viet Nam
