Hello everyone ! My name is Elsa, I'm from the north of France and I am 24 yo. I have travelled since I was a kid, thanks to my mom who often had international meetings for her work all around the globe. Recently I have lived three years in total in South Korea, which became my second home country.

I finished my masters degree last summer. For my bachelors I have studied Korean language and culture, and for my masters I have specialized in anthropology. I wrote a thesis about some Korean environmental ONGs where I did a field study during a year.

I am now teaching French to minor immigrants studying in France. This experience made me encounter bunch of kids from many countries (Afghanistan, Ukraine, Guinea, Sudan, etc.) who introduced me to their culture, and opened my eyes to some very harsh living conditions in various countries in the world.

I have heard about this platform for a few years, and I got the chance to use it for the first time last summer (2023) when my boyfriend, who is Korean, and I, travelled around Europe.
We are doing another road trip this year and are trying to continue this adventure.

In Lille I still live with my parents so for the moment I am not able to host people unfortunately.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

After I graduated high school in France, I went to South Korea for the very first time. I was 17 at the time, and I went there by myself for a year. I was hosted in 3 different Korean host families, and I studied in a local only girls high school. I was completely immerged into the Korean culture, while only listening to and speaking Korean 24/7. This experience made me fall in love with this country, its language, its food, its landscapes, etc. I am still very close with one of the host families that treat me like one of their own.
