About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because of the ever-nagging wanderlust and a desire to meet new people and immerse myself in foreign cultures - in the hope that they may come to be slightly less foreign to me.
Interests
Literature, music, politics, environmentalism, modern history and history of medicine, biochemistry, nutrition, morbid pathologies, the lot. Will devour "real crime" shows to the extent that I'm considering specializing in forensic pathology just so I can spend my life watching them play out from a close distance.

Music, Movies, and Books
Classical literature snob who enjoys everything from Leo Tolstoy and George Eliot to Jane Austen and Truman Capote. Spend a significant amount of time developing my argument that Dickens didn't understand women, and was incapable of penning female characters with a touch more complexity to them than either "absolute saint" or "sinner that should burn in eternal hellfire". Thomas Hardy, however, he gets it. Not to mention Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen - if he was alive today I would probably be some kind of a groupie, such is the extent of my admiration,
Not above breaking out the odd Shakespeare quote should the situation call for it.
As for music I am far less picky, and tend to enjoy most genres, though my personal playlist consists mostly of indie and alternative rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 10 I snuck into a 5 star resort at Gran Canaria to use their swimming pool. Twice.
Studied the Cuban revolution in high school, got enticed and thus went on a 3 week backpacking trip around Cuba to trace the footsteps of Che Guevara and the Castro Brothers.
Started up a small charity group to collect money for teaching materials for a school in Mwanza, Tanzania, and went down there as a part of a political delegation to deliver the collected means in person.
Teach, Learn, Share
Being a medical student I obviously know a thing or two about more or less life-threatening diseases, and I love to spread awareness of the many things that may possibly cause cancer and/or heart disease.
Fluent in Norwegian and will happily teach you, should you for some reason want to learn it.
Went to a special nerd school where they taught us things like how to successfully usurp a developing country's ruling powers and establish a dictatorship, but since I have a basic grasp of ethics (they make us do a course on it in med school) I probably won't want to pass this knowledge on to you.
Fairly decent at English spelling, will happily look over essays and assignments and give feedback that may even be constructive, so there's that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A glass of wine and good conversation. Also, my hypochondria tends to be rather contagious, according to my sister.
