About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Understand why pigeons cast sidelong glances at me

ABOUT ME

The first image I remember is me lying on a giant world map bigger than me. The first word is pronounced was "Buddha" because of a small statue brought from Japan by my father. I was a cosmopolitan baby!

At 15, I decided to leave mathematic high school for a linguistic one. Since then, my curiosity boomed as well as my desire to learn languages and understand cultures. The favourite question about me in the last years was "where is Fabio now?", expecting some exotic answer. When I cannot travel, I travel through images.

I am sometimes a little bit too inconstant, I tend to be mixing up the sunny Mediterranean behaviour with a more reflexive European one.

PHILOSOPHY

Following an unwritten path and wishing to let unknown people enrich this life story.

A song brought me to the shore of the Atlantic Ocean in Portugal. A poetry brought me to Iceland. A novel brought me to Prague. A character brought me to China. A granfather's dream brought me to Russia. An old film brought me to Odessa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I can't host anybody but I can have a coffee with anybody is wandering around Milano. I can show anybody the city and inviting to anything interesting is going on here.

I already hosted lot of friends from everywhere around the globe (I counted more than 15 nationalities) without CouchSurfing and I hope in the future I will be able to host Couchsurfers as well!

Interests

World history on the "Silk Road": China, Russia, India, Europe and Mediterranean. Any age.

Any social science: antropology, sociology. I am attending a master in Cognitive sciences.

Have a good coffee with interesting people. Basically that: meeting interesting people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Italian songwriters. In general any music but I am on the long way to explore, just I don't like mainstream.

Latin American, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, French
literature.

Evocative historical novels and spy stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping on a billiard table in Berlin. Getting lost in a scary horror film-like German village alongside the Rhin River. Repairing an old railway with real Vikings in Sweden. Running like hell for kilometers on the Great Wall in China and climbing up on it. Singing almost naked in the middle of blizzard under the Aurora in Iceland and have a meet-up with blue painted guys in Reykjavik. Finding out to what extent can be dangerous for drunk people confusing "tu" and "de" ... madre in Spain! The autumn moonlight over the Sava River in Belgrade and my native hills.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to make traditional Italian dishes (from tortellini to tiramisù) and everything happened, was told, will be in my foolish country. "Otium", what this ancient concept means and how properly enjoy "dolce far niente".

I am trying to learn as many languages as it is possible in order to speak with their native. Too many times happened to me that people told me "I can't properly express my thoughts in English".

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Netherlands, Portugal, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine
