About Me

CURRENT MISSION

see the beauty that surrounds you

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Els and I enjoy natures beauty. I like to spend my days outside and meet new people and go to new places... Don't talk about particular things, just like blabbing about anything.... Although I developed (as my father) a strong interest for nature, history and culture. Also music and movies, but I am not very good with names, but I like to learn more and hear more about it.

PHILOSOPHY

ENJOY as much as possible in a pace which takes time for everything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2010 I biked the Alpe d'Huez in France three times on one day for the cancer foundation. We (all bikers together) raised more than 10 million euro.

I've done some adventurous motorbike holidays, 1st was from the Netherland to Hungary (through Germany, Chech-republik, Austria, Luxembourg), 2nd was 2 weeks trough Scotland, 3rd Ireland/and a small part of the westcoast of Scotland.

In 2011 I went for work to the US, afterwards I borrowed a friend's truck and discovered Canada: Ontario, Quebeq, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia by myself. I've met really nice people on the way, and discovered that sometimes taking a longer time in a place is very valuable and make the experience more worthwhile. It is not the amount you have seen, it is the experience that counts.

In 2011 I went to Colombia with some friends to visit other friends. We did a trip from Bogota, to Barrichara, San Gil, Santa Marta, Tyrona to Cartagena. Beautiful, exciting, different!

In 2012... I was in Australia.
In 2014 and 2015, I am in France :-)
In 2016-2019 I am in Wageningen, and have lived part-time in Belgium (Ghent)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know animal behaviour, so I can teach you on that subject. Besides that I am interested in scientific and non-scientific subjects and that which are under debate. I like to discuss philosophical matters if doesn't get too theoretical ;-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can provide you a nice place near the Rhine. We live in an old farm house with my doggie but we share the whole house with 16 + somewhat children. We have pigs, sheep, cows, chicken, cat, dog, owls, and rats ;-)
Because I am sharing my appartment with my previous girlfirend I have to make sure she is OK with people coming over. As she is a super relaxed and kind person, most of the time it is fine.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Denmark, France, Netherlands
