About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be a grown up and retain my soul, to cultivate and follow passion, and to do more things that take me out of my comfort zone.

ABOUT ME

I am often told by foreigners that for an American, I am "not very typically American." Although I am not sure if this is as much a reflection on me, or just a lack of nuance in their perception of my country. I am a pretty creative, imaginative person, and enjoy appreciating music and art (and love reading). I like to make things, be it movies or stories or whatever, and its often a trainwreck, but I have fun trying (one of my goals in life is to write one single song, and then after that, I'm happy and my music career is over). I am generally a laidback individual who is kind of a combination of both being mature/responsible, and playful, silly and in touch with my inner 5-year-old.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Having lived and traveled most of last year in Europe, I really appreciate the sense of community, trust and generosity that exists between travelers.

Getting the opportunity to interact with people living locally, I think, can give you insight into a place you can't get any other way. I enjoy playing tour guide, it's a great way to meet like-minded people, and also reconnect with how cool your city actually is (which can be easy to forget when you get lost in the mundane).

I know this city really well, and I am happy to show people some of the treasures I have found in my five years here, and also provide cool people with a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My Couch Surfing experience has been nothing short of wonderful so far. I've done a lot more hosting than surfing at this point, but everyone I have met through the project has been at the very worst interesting and gracious, and at the very best people who have enriched my life and hopefully will remain a part of it for a long time.
