Overview
About Me
Currently, I'm a student at Edinburgh University working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I come from Lithuania, a small country by the Baltic Sea known for its idyllic nature and one of the most difficult yet playful languages.
Despite my rather down to earth profession, I love wandering around a city as much as I'm excited while working on a new DIY project in a workshop. I believe that it is important not to limit yourself to one area or subject and have a broad view towards the world and warm conversations with people of different character and experience help me develop this. Though I don't like people who assume to know everything as I think that intellectual humility is a virtue.
I'm passionate about technology and its trends (SpaceX, Hyperloop, Renewable energy, etc.); however, I believe in books and art which can get you much farther than any rocket. This is why I try to read consistently and dedicate my time to various educational vollunteering activities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having travelled Europe in the conventional way (hotels, renting a car, going to tourist attraction places), now I want to experiment and see people and places from inside out. I'm new on Couchsurfing platform and I feel like a rookie, but I hope that with the help of all welcoming people here I will get going in no time :)
Interests
On one hand, I have rather technical interest, but on the other hand, I don't feel complete without doing sports/artsy/socially-oriented activities such as running, graphic design, participating in educational volunteering activities.
