About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living a sustainable life in harmony with nature.
ABOUT ME
I am a very optimistic person who finds something funny in everything, and I can say that I am very lucky to go around in a good mood most of the times :). I am interested in sustainable ways of living, I am part of an organic food coop which provides me so many nice local vegetables with low impact on the environment. I meditate regularly (Vipassana meditation, or Mindful meditation) and I try to be in the present moment as much as possible.
I love company as much as I enjoy doing things alone.
I love cooking and eating. I am vegetarian and stepping often on the vegan side of things. Lately I have been eating more vegan, as a conscious choice to protect our planet and all animals that live with us... I won't blink if you're eating a steak though, everyone is free to make their own choices! Just no need to kill that reindeer for me :-). I don't smoke and I do not drink alcohol.
I have so far spent a serendipitous life and I don't mind it at all. If you don't want vague and confusing answers, don't ask me about my plans :-).
PHILOSOPHY
Being happy and allowing others to be happy. Life is happiness!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I host and I am being hosted, sharing food, a place to sleep, connecting with the whole world. It is an amazing, beautiful experience and I think that traveling means meeting other cultures, cooking together, learning from each other ... not only sleeping in a hotel where you don't get to know anybody and visit only touristy places!
Interests
Nice artsy stuff always inspires me. Museums, photography, contemporary dance and music (listening, festivals, concerts, drumming on the kitchen table and singing in the shower). I love music! If you play an album that I like I probably know every single lyrics of the songs and I will sing along until it's finished. Some people may not like it.
I practice Vipassana meditation which helps me stay grounded and has become a way of living. Sometimes I am a bit spacey: I can build incredible castles with my head but I am not able to put together even a Lego house with my hands.
I love outdoor activities, I like biking everywhere, swimming, hiking, skiing, camping, anything which inspires me at the moment and I've never tried. I'm always in to learn new stuff and start new adventures.
I love nature, open and wild landscapes. I love water. I could live in an aquarium if someone built me a personalized one and just move around in that :-).
I am a cat person but I don't mind having dogs around as long as they don't jump on me or try to (yak!) lick me. I like geckos living behind the bathroom mirror. I don't mind bugs that much, I normally try to save them from being smashed by giving them a lift to the window or to the nearest tree.
I like writing and blogging.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I drove from Italy to Portugal and back to pick up my adopted Portuguese cats (and then I dropped them at my mom's place). They are happy with grandma now even if I always miss them.
I wandered alone in India and Asia and everyone I met wanted to feed me, I probably have a good "food karma".
I almost drowned in a wave in Portugal and survived some very bad accidents in my youth. But now it seems that I grew up and life is not that risky anymore :-).
I went up the Gibraltar rock and there was this group of monkeys as you know. One looked at me and hissed showing me her teeth. I just had the time to turn around and protect my head and she had jumped on top of me and bitten my shoulder. It hurt!!!Not half as bad as the Halawa Sweet (the Egyptian sugar wax) at a hammam in Cairo, when they removed every single hair of my body.
One of the most amazing things to see is still the view of my hometown, the mountains which splash into Lake Garda. It takes my breath away every time I come back home.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am interested in learning about new and alternative methods of education which focus on the all-round character development of the individual. Anything innovative that lets creativity flow!I would like everyone to get the best out of education, in terms of freedom of thought, emotional stability, awareness. I would love to participate in such projects, helping in anything needed to make them grow.
I can teach how to cook Italian dishes and I would love to cook vegan food with you and learning the local recipes.
I can take care of kitties while I'm hosted. The only time I walked a dog out, on the other hand, he almost got killed, so I don't advise trusting me with that.
