About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To share stories and lives with people from all over the world of all origins and backgrounds!

ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Ely! Spelt with a Y but pronounced like Ellie. I have a Chinese and Italian background and I'm from Vancouver, Canada. I'm currently residing in the south of France for 6 months with the mission to perfect my French and meet as many new people and experience as many new and exciting opportunities as I can. Learning is my passion but learning from life and others, not just from school. I am in love with the diversity of life and the different ways each of us has chosen to live in it, and it's endlessly exciting for me to learn about that as much as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

Give everyone a chance! There are so many of us on this planet and the fact that we are able to cross paths, connect, and share a tiny bit of our lives with

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, completely new!

Interests

Playing the guitar and accordion, singing, discovering good restaurants and bars in cities, the smell of any new places I travel to, learning about different cultures and ways of life, ancient history, mythologies, fencing, outdoor activities, dragon boating, showers, and gelato and/or popsicles.

Music, Movies, and Books

All music except country, death and heavy metal, and angry rap. I love a lot of foreign films (Ip man 1 and 2, Amelie, Kung Fu Hustle, Persepolis), somewhat silly action films (Django Unchained, Inglorious Basterds, Kick-Ass, Scott Pilgrim), the director Wes Anderson, and any films about food. The Japanese film Tampopo is one of my favourites, combining food and foreign films

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Angkor Wat and the temples of Siem Reap in Cambodia (definite favourite), kayaked in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam with my sister, ziplined in Costa Rice, taken a 5 day long train ride across Canada, and probably a few other things I can't remember!

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Belgium, Cambodia, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, France
