Overview
About Me
Hey, I'm a 20 year old student who usually studies in Aberdeen in the North of Scotland but right now I'm on exchange studying Anthropology and International Relations at the University of Groningen. I'm really loving being in the Netherlands and I'm already used to the bikes and love cycling around, gliding through the city. I enjoy good food, long walks with my lovely dog, nights out in good cities and exploring new things.
I really love travelling (hence the exchange), meeting new people and discovering new things and cultures. I'm a big fan of dogs, all things with fur really! I'm also really into live music, architecture, history of art, finding good places for a good cuppa coffee, grabbing a drink with friends and I'm a real foodie!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because myself and my Danish pal from university in Aberdeen want to have a good catch up and include a new person who can really show us the best of the city in a short space of time. I think its great to get a local's perspective. Especially if you're going to a popular place, its difficult to get a real feel for the city behind all the tourism and I'd like to see the roots.
Interests
I am studying a degree so I'm really into Feminism and International Relations theory at the moment I'm doing a lot of research for university.
I have always loved travelling - I first went abroad alone when I was just 10 years old to Malaysia, I went to five International Youth Conferences on the environment and this is still an issue very close to my heart.
I'm very into politics and I AM AN EU CITIZEN no matter what Brexit says and love to be European and all Europeans! <3

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Netflix series: Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, The 3%.
I don't get much time for reading the things I like anymore but I like Gillian Flynn, she gives you a good thrill with Gone Girl and Girl on The Train.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteered in Togo, West Africa with the YMCA.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to share stories of travelling, and also about development and what I experienced during my time volunteering in West Africa.
I'm also reading alot at the moment about Foucault - power is knowledge and what affect this has on minorities, its super interesting to know how little knowledge we are taught and how much exists out there that is important!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A big friendly smile, its always best to be smiling! And my lovely friend Nici is also always smiling! I can also make you Yorkshire puddings, very British and I make excellent brownies.
