About Me
Hello everyone! I'm Emma and I'm travelling with my brother Nick. We've taken a few months off of our studies to trek across South America and the USA.
We are from Australia and are both very friendly and down to earth people. We share a ridiculous sense of humour, poor coordination and even look strangely alike. We make up for this by being very helpful and tidy, interesting to talk to and plenty of fun to be around.
Nick and I can't wait to explore your corner of the world and hope you can help us to make the most of it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Nick and I are looking to meet and stay with local people as a way to make our time away more meaningful and real - plus to stretch our measly student budget further..
Once I'm home in Australia I plan to offer time and space of my own to weary travellers finding themselves washed up in little old Adelaide. I want to contribute to this awesome network of people who look out for each other and help to make others' travel easier and more memorable.
Interests
I'm a down to earth, outdoors type person and am looking to see as much natural beauty as possible in the places I visit. Nick and I are both pretty active and adventurous and are hoping to do plenty of trekking/cycling/rafting in South America.
Three of my favourite past times would be reading, photography, and having dinner with friends (old or new!). I really love to sit and chat about anything with someone who is interested in the world and other people. At home I study medicine and it's opened my eyes to the enormous diversity of life experience and perspectives.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is pretty mellow eg. chet faker, bon iver, tame impala and I always enjoy hearing new stuff. Going to live music in another country is always awesome.
I'm not a huge TV and movie person, but I will admit to recently getting hooked on Game of Thrones and the Vikings series. In terms of books I will read and enjoy nearly anything, I especially like stories set somewhere foreign to me or in a different era.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Drove around the deserts of Rajastan (India) with my best friend and a local old fellow who spoke no English, but who had a rusty green car in semi-working order. Survived running out of petrol and water at various points - incredible places and people!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to exchange some help with languages; English-spanish. I am very patient and would enjoy helping someone with their English. My spanish is pretty basic, but I think staying with local speakers must be the best way to improve it!
I would hope to share conversation and stories with a host, and depending on what free time they had - it would be great to spend time outside seeing the local area, or just sharing dinner/wine/beer/midnight snacks if it suits them!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be a friendly visitor - always happy to chat about life, ideas, stories or travel and life in Australia. I have an optimistic outlook on life and am always looking for the good in other people. I'm very helpful around the place and would always fit in with what was happening in my host's day.
