Overview
About Me
I’m Emanuel Cambrón Rojas, a Mexican traveler who, at 23, has already crossed almost the entire country — from tropical jungles to vast deserts, from rare artisanal processes to industrial operations most young people never get to see. I study Agroindustry, but my curiosity goes far beyond that: I’ve worked with experimental fermentations, distillations, medicinal plants, rural communities, and real companies in the field. I’m driven by intense experiences, deep conversations, and places that shift your perspective. I love dancing, hiking, cooking, and meditating.
I’m passionate about connecting with authentic people, learning from their worldview, and building meaningful bonds. I look for places with purpose, projects that make a difference, and people who live with intention — things worth living for and fully embracing wherever I go.
Interests
I'm traveling to Europe because I will be conducting a technical analysis at an olive oil production plant in Seville — part of my Agroindustry training and a project I’m truly grateful for. Still, traveling has always been a core part of who I am: from a very young age I explored most of Mexico through routes that were often challenging, but that shaped my resilience, curiosity, and ability to connect deeply with people.
My technical background is diverse: I have strong knowledge of food systems, I’ve been a speaker at an academic congress, I’ve taught workshops on essential oil extraction, and I’ve collaborated with Indigenous communities on real on-site projects. Even though I’m young, I’ve learned to navigate very different environments — academic, rural, touristic, and experimental — and that has given me a broad and adaptable perspective.
On this trip, I hope to keep meeting authentic people, share what I know, and learn from everyone I cross paths with. I’m looking for meaningful connections, growth, and opportunities that open new doors in my life
Music, Movies, and Books
Art
I love writing—it's one of the ways I process the world and turn experiences into stories. I also have a very niche hobby: collecting minerals from across Mexico and hand-polishing them to make bracelets or pendants. Working with stones feels almost meditative and connects me to the places I’ve explored.
Books
My taste in books is diverse. Some of my favorites include Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel García Márquez, Microbe Hunters, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Looking for Alaska by John Green, and The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. I like books that show different ways of living, thinking and feeling.
Movies
I enjoy movies of all kinds, especially those about travel or personal journeys. Some that have stayed with me are Into the Wild, Camino a Marte, Interstellar, Harry Potter, a few from Marvel, Eat Pray Love, and classic Mexican films like Amarte Duele. I also love the series How I Met Your Mother—it reminds me of the importance of friendships and unexpected adventures.
Music
My music taste is wide: from rock to instrumental music, from The Beatles to Enjambre, and even traditional Mexican genres like duranguense and banda. I also love dancing salsa and cumbia, rhythm
Teach, Learn, Share
In my free time I chase movement and connection. I love wandering through new places, getting lost on purpose, and discovering hidden corners. I also enjoy cooking improvised dishes —I always end up making something fermented or trying some unusual recipe I learned while traveling around Mexico— and I love dancing whenever there’s good music. Meeting new people, sharing stories, and hearing different perspectives energizes me. Sometimes I read, meditate, or write to clear my mind, but I can just as easily end up exploring a forest, researching local ingredients, or trying something completely new. I’m drawn to activities that break routine and make you feel alive.
