Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I signed up on couchsurfing because I trust. I like the idea that in such a globalized world, there can still be a place for non-monetary exchange, far from the cold market logics, those where the producer / consumer relationship no longer exists.

We live in a paradoxical society par excellence, where digital intercommunication dominates, but we struggle to remember the name of the neighbor. We are always more alone.

A solitude that we often pretend to appreciate, in the absence of something we no longer recognize. One thing that makes us unmistakably more human, but that the market economy continues to hinder: social bonds.

Ties, social relationships, which arise from the gift and its main value: the absence of guarantees. An absence that presupposes trust.

That trust that I continue to have because, after all, like to think that there are still people in the world who are willing to have them.
