About Me

I'm a 28 years old traveller, who just finished his BA in Sociology. Since I have now a lot of time, I decided to travel for the next 1-2 years through South and Meso America. I don't have specific plans for my trip and I'm mostly deciding spontaneous where I'm heading next to. I lived the last five years in Vienna, Austria but I was born and raised in Würzburg/Germany. I have a passion for experience and knowledge and I try to enlarge both of them all the time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Namibia, some friends invited me to stay for a night in a small village of the Ovahimba-tribe in the namibian bush close to the border of Angola. That evening (it was the 23th of dec) the clan slaughtered a chicken for us and I thought it would be impolite to deny it so I ate it - even if I don't eat meat and especially chicken is something I really don't like at all. But I was a kind of surprised that the clan leader did not ate it and so I ask him (a friend translated for me) why he didn't ate the chicken. The explanation he gave me seemed to easy, because he answered, that he just don't like chicken -.-
The day after (24th dec) all of my friends got sick on the way home and in the end I had the worst christmas of my life spending my time alone in the restroom of a cheap bad&breakfast-room with an gastrointestinal disorder.
In a way it was awful in that moment, but today I can laugh about it :D
...and at least I still have a very precise memory of my days in the Ovamboland :)
