Overview
About Me
I graduated University in 2013, and since then have been living in St. John's Newfoundland. Like many 'mainlanders' I've fallen in love with this place, the people, the landscape, the culture, even the cold foggy weather has it's charms.
I'm working in an architecture firm. My professional interests are urbanism, affordable housing and participatory design. I'm deeply involved in the discussion (an action) around responsible urban development. I love working with others to affect change and strive to be a leader. I'm on the extroverted side, very logical, but impulsive.
My spare time I spend mostly with close friends, cooking or getting outside. I'm active and like to run, hike and do yoga. I enjoy live music and eating out. I like to put myself out of my element and would consider myself to be adventurous. Try everyone once, eh? Within reason.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing is a way to get off the beaten path and experience a city from a local'a perspective. I enjoy sharing cultures and love having deep conversations about the 'are people inherently good or evil?' 'How does your environment shape who you become?' kind of things. I enjoy meeting new people and developing meaningful relationships. Couch surfing is a way to do all that jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I'm doing is spearheading an initiative called the Wandering Pavilion. It's a temporary installation that travels from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. It's made of floor, wall, and roof pieces that can be reconfigured based on the function and location of the pavilion. The goal of this project is to stir the pot, get people taking and more importantly doing. People have such amazing ideas and I really want to help them do them. Some examples of what it could be is a wifi hub, outdoor stage, vegetable stand etc. Your imagination is really the limit.
