After travelling around for over 10 years, and staying in numerous hostels, I've realised that in most cases you learn more about the cities you travel to from the people you meet that have lived there. Tourists generally go to the touristy places and yes I will still do that, but I am a whole lot more interested in seeing the hidden, local places from the eyes of a local.
