Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
speak more German (teaching English makes this surprisingly difficult)
ABOUT ME
23 year old ex-pat (for how much longer I'm not yet sure) dealing with the terrifying world that is life outside university in a very grown-up sort of way: by running away to Europe for a while.
PHILOSOPHY
Be nice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first surfer recently and hope to be able to host more in the future. I went on a 2+ week extravaganza in the UK to get around tricksy German visa regulations last summer and had an absolutely wonderful time as a surfer.
Interests
History, museum studies, queer politics, maps, the Arthurian legend, dialects/accents/colloquialisms, baking, beer (and baking with beer), attempting to take good photos, sometimes being successful at it, oxford commas, and (obviously) travel. I used to dance quite a lot, have done some martial arts and miss both.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent the past few months enjoying the brilliance that is watching and helping a 10 year old go from knowing no English to speaking in full (mostly coherent) sentences.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to think I'm now something of an expert on explaining the English language and American "culture" - and discussing whether or not we actually have (a) culture in the first place.
If you're interested in Spanish swear words or German (both swears and things you can say around your Grandmother/small children) I'm your girl.
