ABOUT ME
I graduated last May from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a major in Ecology/Evolutionary Biology and a minor in Geography. I wrote an honors thesis on prairie dogs and their fleas and spent this past summer trapping prairie dogs throughout Arizona and New Mexico.
I grew up in New Hampshire and spent a wonderful 18 years of my life there. I met my boyfriend, Bryant, in high school and we've been together ever since. We moved out to Colorado for college and fell in love with this area of the country too.
I just got back from my summer internship in New Mexico/Arizona and am going to be traveling throughout Ireland/Scotland/England with Bryant in a few weeks. Hopefully I'll deal with that whole job thing after I get back...
PHILOSOPHY
Play the cards your dealt. You're only given one chance here, so have as much fun as possible and spread as much joy as possible.
"No regrets, that's my motto. That and everybody wang chung tonight."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I only just recently joined this community. Bryant and I are going to be traveling throughout Ireland, England, and Scotland next month and a friend suggested we try couchsurfing. I am very impressed by this community so far and I am looking forward to meet all these beautiful and interesting people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Again, I just joined! Stories to come!
Interests
I love the outdoors, comedy, trying pastries at different coffee shops, riding my bike everywhere, studying Biology/Ecology/Geography, quoting Eddie Murphy with Brean (one of my three sisters), and running. I am also a fan of prairie dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jack Johnson, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin are my all-time favorites, but I do enjoy and appreciate just about anything... yes, even country. Right now, I am on a Lady Gaga kick.
I LOVE movies! I am no movie buff but movie night is one of my favorite times of the week. I enjoy Wes Anderson's movies, romantic comedies, horror, scifi... they're all great.
As for books, I've been reading a lot of Kurt Vonnegut lately, which has been quite hilarious. Catcher in the Rye is my favorite book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have had many amazing experiences in my life, but one that sticks out particularly is the day Bryant and I hiked up Mount Washington via Huntington's Ravine. We were bad hikers that day and didn't look closely at our map and accidentally took the wrong trail up the mountain. It was the most difficult trail you can do without ropes and harnesses. Once we started going up though, we couldn't go back down... literally. It was the hardest thing I've done (especially since I have a slight fear of heights) but we did it! Bryant and I worked together to climb up what essentially was a cliff face and reaching the top was one of the most incredible feelings. If you're not familiar with Mt Washington, it is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States and is famous for its erratic weather. It also holds the record for highest wind gusts. Knowing all these things made our hike all the more terrifying... and exciting! I do not recommend doing this though.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy talking about conservation biology and love telling people the story of the prairie dog. Prairie dogs have been my life for the past two or so years. I am open to learning anything. Knowledge is power!
