ABOUT ME

I am an artist, photographer, adventurer! I love nature, the outdoors, and seeing the world.

I started traveling in high school, when I visited the Netherlands, Germany, and France on a school trip. In college, I studied abroad in Scotland and traveled around the UK. Since then, I have traveled to Peru, Nepal, Italy, and Switzerland. I have spent two summer seasons working in Denali National Park in Alaska. I have driven across the United States twice, once on a southern route and once on a northern route, visiting many US National Parks on the way.

I have a degree in Sculpture, and I'm also passionate about photography. I make and sell an original line of jewelry for extra income. I am also interested in environmental science and environmental education. In Alaska, I worked as a hiking guide and an environmental educator, helping tourists learn more about the ecosystems of Denali National Park.

I don't smoke, I do drink. I'm outgoing, but very respectful of personal space. If I host you, my personal space is important, and if you host me, I'm sure not to infringe on yours.

I have a camera collection and I shoot 35mm film, and I'll take photos of just about anything that inspires me. I also love to shoot interesting people. I have a small cocker spaniel who I love dearly. She is a little shy, but gets along fine with people. She unfortunately doesn't get along too well with other dogs.

I had many wonderful hosts in 2011 on a trip around Italy and Switzerland. These hosts and new friends of mine enriched my experience, showing me an insider's view of their hometowns.

Music, Movies, and Books

All music. A million indie bands and singer/songwriters. Always looking for new music and willing to share mine.
Books: Mostly British literature and the classics, but my favorites vary from Virginia Woolf to Jane Austen to Rudyard Kipling to JD Salinger to Kerouac to Mary Shelley to F. Scott Fitzgerald. I'm a reading fiend.
Movies: Wes Anderson. Cohen Brothers. Tarantino. almost anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living with a small family in a rural village in Nepal for two months, an amazing cultural experience and wonderful learning experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my love an knowledge for the art of film photography. I can share my experiences and knowledge from living in Alaska.
I'd love to learn from people who have followed their hearts to have a rich life, and who have been to places I have or haven't been.
