About Me

Hey everyone!

I'm a student from Germany currently traveling home from my exchange semester in the north of Sweden back to Germany and would love to see as much as possible of Sweden on my way back.

The last half year in Umeå with a big community of international students and the possibility to take many trips, go hiking but also to cook, live and party together has been an incredible experience. I'd like to continue getting to know people with other cultural backgrounds and learning about lifestyles than may differ from mine which is why I'd like to do some couch surfing! Moreover, I'd love to see more of Swedens beautiful nature, small towns and bigger cities. So far, I had only done couchsurfing with friends or I met people in hostels but I'm looking forward to get to know people this way :)

What else can be said about me?
I like being out in nature but have also learnt to take advantage of the possibilities that a big city offers me. I get enthusiastic about photography and dogs and I enjoy good conversations about politics, literature (I always love getting book recommendations!) and cooking new meals. Moreover, I try to be aware and educate myself more about topics such as sustainability, privilege, discrimination and feminism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have not had my first Couch Surfing experience so far, but I think and hope that in this way I can get to know some new people that are willing to share their experiences and opinions with me. I love hearing about other people's dreams, hopes and fears, their political views, maybe their religion and just in general, getting to know their lives.

in my opinion, the world needs a lot more people that a willing to get out of their own bubble and talk to other humans in the world - Couch Surfing seems like a great way to connect these people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I enjoy some Alternative, Indie and Folk music (e.g. The 1975, First Aid Kit, The Maine, Bear's Den) as well as some of the current Pop/Rock-Music (e.g. Coldplay, Julia Michaels, Sam Smith, P!NK). Moreover, I love a lot of old artists such as Queen, The Beatles, ABBA, Roxette or Bruce Springsteen.

Books:
As a huge book lover it's nearly impossible to choose only some of my favorites, but I tried it anyway:
Harry Potter, The Alchemist, The Why-Are-You-Here-Cafe, Jane Eyre, Emma, The City of Dreaming Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

so far, my year abroad is one big great experience - with a lot of downs as well, of course.
But since I've gone away from home I've tried quite a lot of new things, I've grown as a person and had the pleasure to meet some very inspiring people.

also, flying in a hot air baloon two years ago was very very impressive!
