About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I lived in Cleveland Ohio (USA) for a couple years, and one of my greatest pleasures was hosting people in the city! Whenever possible I try to arrange my schedule to show my guests a really nice time. I especially love hosting people traveling by bicycle -- I had wonderful surfing experiences on a long bike trip of my own, and it is my Karmic duty to repay the kindness of those hosts. It was basically a miracle to bicycle up to a stranger's home and be escorted into a shower that I desperately needed -- I'll offer the same to my guests, bicycling or not!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed in many places around the U.S. -- spending some time in Tucson; passing through Omaha; in Hong Kong and Indonesia with gracious hosts; and on a cross-country bicycle trip in 2010, I surfed in every city that had eligible hosts.
I've had plenty of wonderful people surf at my house when I was living in Cleveland.
I can't host right now because I'm in the process of moving! But don't worry that will change I hope.
UPDATE: At the beginning of June 2014, I ran into a woman who I'd hosted *years* before when I was living in Cleveland -- she was passing through on a cross-country bicycle trip with two friends -- and it was total insanity to find each other in Vermont! That moment was confirmation of the joy of participating in croudsourced hospitality. Lee, it was great to see you again!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music I've been listening to lately includes lots of tunes from Mali -- Ali Farka Toure, Rokia Traore, Tinariwen, etc. DJing at a college radio station has been a major treat for my ears.
I read as often as I can -- currently deep into "Angle of Repose" by Wallace Stegner. Love to talk books and music!
Also love watching movies, but I rarely make the time for it :( seems like I'm busy with other things a lot. Come stay with me and we'll go see a movie as a special occasion!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode my bike from Cleveland to San Francisco over the course of 2 months in 2010 -- let's just say it was the best thing I did, ever!
