About Me
A Kiwi who left the motherland many years ago to go join my friends in London for a year after too many years at University, and just ended up never going home again. After many years in the U.K. and travelling around Europe I decided I needed something new that involved lots of sunshine, so it was Far North Queensland in Australia to save enough money to travel for a year and half through India mainly and a lil’ bit of the rest of Asia again. Then back to Far North Australia to save enough cash for this trip: It’s all about Sudamerica, road tripping by whatever means necessary from the north coast of Colombia to the bottom of Argentina. Do some charity work in the communities along the way, and then hopefully get a job teaching English in the country I travelled through that I liked best. Just some quick stops along the way before arriving in South America: Thailand, Tokyo for a week, another week in Vancouver, and one in Seattle, New Orleans, couple of weeks in New York, then the roadtrip starts in Colombia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been travelling various countries making new friends for about 16 years now. Couchsurfing.com seems to go along with that. I’ve stayed at a couple of couchsurfing places in Seattle and it’s been great so far, staying and chatting with a local changes the whole travel experience. I love exploring the new places I visit but I’d much rather be doing that and chatting with a local than off taking photos of tourist spots. Exploring new places and meeting the people that live in them, it’s a fascinating world full of fascinating people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Any films by Wes Anderson or The Coen Brothers are generally tip-top amongst many many others.
Have read a lot of books, modern(ish) classics is probably my thing.
Any music with a bit of heart and sincerity in it I can appreciate.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just spent 3 months living in the southern Thailand jungle meditating a lot, living with the Buddhist monks there, off in a hut with candles and weird jungle sounds at night, and a million mosquitos. . It was definitely a different way of life.
Spending a year travelling all over India was pretty amazing too though.
Teach, Learn, Share
Stories, chat, general banter and curiosity about life and how we live it and can live it. Also handy with a hammer and a nail if anyone needs a bit of D.I.Y.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An open mind. I'm more curious about listening to other peoples stories, about who they are where we are, but I've been to quite a few places and know a thing or two now, so hopefully I have something to share also in return
