Overview
About Me
My name is Emiel van Well, I am 24 years old and I am a student at Leiden University but at the campus in The Hague. Here I do the course International Studies where I am focusing on the region Latin-America. I live in the middle of the centre in The Hague, next to the Grote Markt, together with one roommate. I would say I am a friendly guy who likes going out, and have a good time. I love to explore different cultures and meet new people on couchsurfing, it is to invite people over and share stories. I don't host people who do not socialize and only come to sleep. Couchsurfing for me is a way to learn and talk to people about their life. Also it is mostly because I'm up for having fun. I hope you can enjoy life as I do and everybody is welcome :).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I agree with almost everything, from metal to reggae and more. And always open for new music!
Books: At the moment I dont really read a lot, but I do love reading. Love Wilbur Smith, Stephen King and I find fantasy genre very fun to read.
Movies: When I was young I worked in a videostore so I have watched a lot of movies. However I do not like horror movies and will never get why people like them. Who wants to be scared?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Voluntary work in Africa for three weeks. It was in the middle of Burundi with our teacher who grew up there. Me with 10 others got money together for surrounding villages to help build a water well. We also gave classes to the students.
Lets make it two:
Travelled through Latin America (Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay) and did a 4 month human rights internship in Cusco which was amazing and I will always look back on it.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you do something for someone, you get something back. Life is an adventure, live it do not waste a moment.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Honestly, whatever they want but if I would appreciate one thing, that is to learn from each other. Cultures are different everywhere and you only have one life and I want learn and share everything I can.
My room is 24 square meters so there is space but not a lot of privacy. If you are sociable you will have fun.
