About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, laugh, drink and lie... let's have fun for tomorrow we die

ABOUT ME

I'm enthusiastic and friendly with more opinions than you'll ever have time for. I love to discuss films, literature, and art, but mostly find myself creating elaborate fictional scenarios to entertain myself and others. I'm a storyteller. I'm always good for a laugh, a dance and a drink. Beyond all this revelry, however, lies an inquisitive heart of gold that is interested in the way forward: open systems, generosity, and global friends.

PHILOSOPHY

If you've got good friends you don't need much money.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to entertain visitors to new york, especially young people with an interest in independent music and films... I live in Brooklyn, where there is a thriving youth culture happening. If you want to see the real new york, you won't find it in Times Square. I want to show it to you!

Interests

Film/cinema, American and global history, new media theory, new media art, people with ideas and opinions who want to talk about more than pop culture. I like riding bikes, collecting records, and creating community.

Music, Movies, and Books

I could quite honestly go on forever so I'll attempt to be brief...

Antonioni, the situationists, Ken Loach, documentary, absurdist humor, neo-realism, experimental, new wave.

Lately i've been listening to mostly Motown, but i've had a lot of phases, which have included punk rock, bebop, and brit pop... all time faves include the Kinks, the Zombies, Smokey Robinson, Fugazi, any Ian Svenonious band, Ted Leo, Thelonious Monk, Billie Holiday, Pulp, Blur

Books: mostly evelyn waugh, PG Wodehouse, DH Lawrence, Kenneth Rexroth, Jean Paul Sartre, Simone De Beauvoir, and lots of theory that bores most people but invigorates me!
