About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I will do a study abroad at the University of Tokyo from the beginning of September and will travel around in Japan for a month before that. My mission in this month of travel is to have as much fun as I can with the money I have!

ABOUT ME

I am a 21 year old guy from Denmark. I am a very laid back person and can talk to everybody. I like meeting new people and hearing what interests and what lives people live as everybody is different it is always fun! I currently study Japanese studies in Copenhagen, Denmark and will be starting my second year of studying by a study abroad at the University of Tokyo. My main interests are the Japanese language, history and culture and I especially like the Japanese Kanji writing system! Apart from my interest in Japan I also like music and have played the guitar for about 10 years. I like drinking, dancing and going to town. I also like computer games and like manga and anime. I have lived with a friend in an apartment in Copenhagen for 1.5 years and have a pretty good idea about how to live with other people.I speak English to about the same degree as my Danish native tongue and am able to have a conversation in Japanese and have several friends with whom I only speak Japanese. I will be touring the Tokyo, Hokuriku and Chubu areas and am mainly aiming to have fun while not spending more money than I have :) I have been to Japan for a period of 3 months 2 years ago and have seen a lot of different places, met a lot of different people and have many stories I would like to share. As such I also have a pretty good idea about what to expect when travelling in Japan and would probably, instead of visiting all the famous places, prefer hanging out with local people. I am looking forward to the chance to stay at your place! Anything is fine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to meet some people living in the areas I am visiting and I am up for nearly anything as long as it is not too expensive! I am currently a self-supported university student and have lived with a friend in Copenhagen for 1.5 years so I have a pretty good idea about how to share an apartment. I wanted to try couchsurfing because I like meeting new people and it seems like a really good way of doing it and it could give me a chance to talk Japanese to a lot of different people when I visit the country! It will also help me get more out of my money as I have a pretty limited budget.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not couchsurfed before but am really looking forward to trying it for the first time!

Interests

Currently my main interests are the Japanese language, history and culture, and I especially like the Japanese Kanji writing system! Apart from this I like music, computer and console games and manga and anime. I also like drinking, dancing and going to town!

Music, Movies, and Books

I feel like I will miss something if I write all I can think of :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most impressive thing I have done yet was when I travelled Japan alone for 3 months as a 19-20 year old 2 years ago. I am also proud of the amount of work I have put in to my first year at Japanese studies and the Japanese level I have obtained in such a small time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a little bit of Danish or English if you want to. I could also show or teach you some guitar. Apart from this I like to talk about my own life, listen to other people talk about their life and help in any way I can!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories from my life, advice on things I am knowledgeable and my passions and opinions.

Countries I’ve Visited
