Growing up in sunny Curaçao where I enjoyed activities such as sailing, diving and hanging around with friends. After high school I moved to The Netherlands to study, more specifically to Wageningen, the city of life science as it is also referred to. While it is less sunny I am very happy to be living here since it has really broadened my horizons by meeting many international students and helping me develop specific interests. tudying in Wageningen has of course had a large impact on the way I view the world, particularly on political, social and environmental topics. I study Food Science & Technology so clearly my interests are mostly related to food (fermentation, cooking, baking). However, I am also very nature oriented so I also enjoy other (still food related ;)) hobbies such as foraging wild herbs and mushrooms (responsibly!). Recently I have also started climbing and have become quite obsessed with it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being in the local food / fermentation- and as of recently the climbing community has really shown me the value of community and getting together with likeminded individuals. Therefore I look forward to meeting interesting people from all over the world and couch surfing seems like a great way to do it!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to books, I'm really into Russian and Japanese literature such as Dostoyevski and Murakami.
When it comes to music, it is more difficult for me to say since I enjoy a wide range of styles. Recently I've been listening to a lot of jazz / funky stuff but I do enjoy some drum and bass or dubstep if I'm exercising. I enjoy movies that make me question our existence and society such as Ex machina, Donny Darko and Limitless.

I am very passionate about the things I do and have experience giving workshops in my work and voluntarily. Therefore I love sharing my knowledge on various food-related topics and am also eager to learn from others.

What I Can Share with Hosts
