About Me

My name is Émile, and I'm a web developer from Québec, Canada. I am a very passionate individual living a vegan lifestyle . I thrive when I am surrounded with friendly, open-minded and positive individuals. :)

French is my native language, and I learned English in my younger days by participating in english-speaking forums and playing video games.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my experience, the people you meet and spend your time with is what really makes a trip fun and memorable, and I believe Couchsurfing is a wonderful platform to connect with people from all over the world, wether I am travelling around the globe or staying at home and hosting travellers.

I also happen to have a spare bedroom, which is great for travellers who need to rest for a bit! I enjoy meeting new people and learning about other cultures, so feel free to contact me if you're coming around here!

Interests

I'm interest in a wide variety of subjects, and in anyone who believes they are interesting. If you really like something, tell me about it - there's a good chance I also find it interesting and I would like to discuss it.

Oh, you want specifics? Well, I really love creating things, which is one of the main reasons why I work as a web developer. I'm also very interested in entrepreneurship and everything that surrounds that for the same reason.

I'm also interested in history, ancient civilizations and literature, but my memory is quite terrible, so although I read, listen and watch a lot of resources about those subjects (and many other), I can only recall a few things here and there.

Overall, I think I just love learning in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

I haven't been reading nearly as much as I would like lately, but Alice's Adventure in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass are definitely my favorite books; I've read both of those quite a few times! I also like non-fiction books on a multitude of topics; one very interesting book I read is "The Code Book" by Simon Singh - the way it teaches you complex concepts while also describing the point in history in which they were discovered and used just made the book incredibly easy to read and enjoyable.

I've watched a lot of movies, some classics and some more obscure ones, but it's also very likely that I haven't watched those movies that you really enjoyed. I have a tendency to rewatch the same movies and series over and over again, instead of watching new ones. Don't ask me why: I don't have a clue!

As for music, I like a bit of everything. I usually listen to the same albums for weeks/months on end, so any song that's on my playlist I most likely know the lyrics to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once had my hair braided and tied helium balloons to the braid, which made the braid float in the air.I kept it for the entire length of the party; it was magical! (I have a video on my phone, I can show you!).

I've probably done some much more impressive or noteworthy things in my life, but this one is just a very good memory of mine. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm no great cook, I've never been able to learn piano or guitar, but I am usually very willing to try and do almost anything! I'm also willing to help with anything - dishes, cleaning, technologies, etc... But more than anything, I always try my very best to have a good attitude and vibe that hopefully spreads to the people around me. :)
