About Me

Hey! I'm Emilia, 21 years young and from Berlin, Germany.
After just coming back from a nearly 8 month trip in South America, which I did after graduating highschool now I had some time travelling through Europe figuring out what to do in my life.
Which turned out to be moving to Freiburg im Breisgau to study Computer Science.
And while doing that I want to actually explore the places I'm coming from. Let it be my cities, Germany or Europe - being abroad showed me how much there still is to discover for me!
I like to dance, to laugh, to talk, to read, to listen to music and to make my own decisions. I like adventures, nature, new stuff, food and cool and interesting people and hope that I'm one of them too, but I guess telling this is up to you after we talked for a bit.

Hey!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason why I travel is that I want to know as much as possible about the countries, cultures, people and places of our world. Not just by reading but by seeing with my own eyes and listening with my own ears. So staying with people who are locals seems to be the clue to get a 'real' (or at least pretty close to 'real') idea of the place. Couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity to do right that.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Music is absolutely one of my favorite parts of life. I'd even say I'm not sure if the life would be worth living without having all the music available. But there is so much good music that it's pretty hard to list it all. And my favorites also vary from time to time. But right now I'm really into
Pink Floyd, David Bowie, New Order, Rolling Stones, Gorrilaz, Alt-J, Kings of Leon, Bonobo, Nirvana, The Doors, Daughter, RHCP, Queen, Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Nick Cave, Moderat, U2, Kollektiv Turmstraße, Footprint Project, BaianaSystem, El Mato A Un Policia Motorizado, Perras On The Beach and good goa, psytrance, reggea, drum' n' bass and techno in general. :)

BOOKS
It's pretty much the same with books as it is with music. There are so many and gladly so many good ones too.
My favourite book is Licht from Christoph Meckel, but I also really enjoy the books from Siri Hustvedt, Paul Auster, Isabelle Allende, Max Frisch... And of course J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is awesome!

MOVIES
Okay, I'm done now. I guess it's pretty clear that there are as well lots and lots of good movies but that's no secret and if you want to know exactly which movies I think are awesome and worth seeing then we probably should just meet up and talk about it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My long trip through South America was definitely an eye opening adventure which didn't only teach me a lot, but also provided probably the most exiting experiences of my life. From wild camping alone in the nothingness to a new year's eve (which I'm used to in snowy white!) at a palm beach in Brazil there happened so much, that honestly it's kinda hard to even remember all the highlights.

Teach, Learn, Share

teach me, I'll try teaching you and afterwards we can decide if it worked over sharing a beer.

But I can teach you how to tie a turban. Or at least how I am doing it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I'm living in a small flatshare it's not too easy to host people so I'm promising nothing and it very much also depends on my flatmate. But hey, just give it a try! There can't be anything worse than a "no".

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
