About Me

I'm incredibly uncertain about what I want from life, so right now I'm trying to take it one day at a time, all while being way too stressed out about my future to actually do that. The important part is trying I guess.

I'm super curious. So, YES, I do want to hear everything that happened to your aunt five years ago when she went grocery shopping. I would like to know everything about everyone. Maybe "nosy" would be a better way to describe me, but you know, let's try to keep it cute by saying "curious".
I'm very good at boundaries though. If you don't want to talk about your aunt it's fine. I just love listening.

I'm from Quebec, Canada, and I speak French as a first language, which makes me very proud for some weird reason.

I was an exchange student 3 times: Twice in Germany for a total of six months (2012/13), as well as 10 months in Denmark (2014/15). I was also an aupair in Torino, Italy, for 9 months (2016/17). Right after, I was an aupair in Mexico City for 5 months (2017).

When I'm at home, I work as a front desk receptionist in a small hotel in Quebec City.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found myself very lonely at times when I first traveled alone. It was winter and the hostels were mostly empty, so it was hard to have human contact sometimes. I feel like doing couchsurfing is a sure way of having someone to talk to. There's nothing I like more than hearing about other people's adventures and stories, and I think that the people who couchsurf are , for the most part, really open-minded and have tons of things to say.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm down with pretty much any kind of music, I usually just go with what fits my mood best! I like indie as a background music when I walk through a new city, it makes me feel like I'm in a movie. I'm also a big fan of punk rock, which is my go-to music when cleaning. It reflects how annoyed I am at domestic chores (I'm still clean I swear!)

I didn't have a favorite movie until I saw "A Clockwork Orange".
But overall I'm more of a tv show type of girl since I have a bad attention span.

I liked "The Great Gatsby" movie by Baz Luhrmann more than I liked the book. Lynch me. (but don't, that's barbaric and even my poor tastes in litterature don't deserve that).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I first boarded a plane alone at 15 years old, heading to a country where I didn't know the language, going to live for three months in a family I didn't know.
That experience is what triggered my desire to travel.

I taught English in a Romanian summer camp when I was 19 which was also pretty cool. Later on I taught French in an immersion camp for adults in Poland, and was a waitress in a ski resort restaurant in Czech Republic.

Teach, Learn, Share

My first language is French, so I'd say that I speak it quite well, and I'm not bad at German, Danish, Italian and Spanish. So if you're interested in practicing those languages or learning a few words I've got you covered.

I play piano and can teach you any 4 chords song.

I have a few stories about my travels that I can tell, even though not all of them are mind-blowing and often end with "So yeah... That's it".

I love learning new things from people, whether it's a new word/something about the history of your country/how to cook a fun dish... so basically anything you're willing to teach me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I play the piano a bit and I love singing so if you're into that I guess I can be entertaining.

I try to be funny and often fail, but people I hang out with still seem to be having a good time so I presume I'm not that dull.
