Overview
About Me
A Swedish-born Canadian studying at Uppsala Universitet, pursuing a Master's of Biology with a specialization in Ecology and Conservation. Grew up loving to be outdoors and have spent many nights camping and hiking all over Canada and wish to explore more of the world! I love music and rocking out at concerts and spending days riding roller coasters but also love quiet evenings reading and drinking tea under a warm blanket.
After having couchsurfed a few times now, I'm beginning to better understand how I prefer to travel. I really enjoy going at my own pace and not feel guilty stopping for the 1000th time to take pictures, and honestly, I am just not able to keep up hours of small talk as someone tours me around. That's why I prefer exploring on my own. So if you're okay with letting me do my own thing for the day, I'm super okay with hanging out in the evenings! I just want to be clear with what I'm looking for in a host :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When out travelling I love to get insider tips on the best places to check out and where to get some good eats in the city I'm visiting!
Another thing I've learned after being on Couchsurfing is that there is not enough women helping out other women. Unfortunately it can be a little frightening to travel solo as a woman and be bombarded by many different men offering to host you while the women you reached out to for host requests remain silent. Now I'm not saying that these men are dangerous - the ones I have stayed with have all been very kind and generous - but it can be a little more reassuring to stay with a woman, especially one who understands what it's like to travel solo in a foreign country. That's why I will try my best to accommodate requests from women, because I know what it's like and I want to help!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - anything with a good beat and that's fun to sing to! Lights, Paramore, Imagine Dragons, 5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low, Bastille, flor, Great Big Sea, Dear Rouge, One Ok Rock
Movies - Pretty open to any movie (all time favourite is Moulin Rouge) but am less excited for horror films. Love all the big franchises - Star Wars, LOTR, Indiana Jones
Books - Right now I'm really into reading factual books about environmentalism and consumer habits but I also enjoy reading fiction
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had a field tech job in Kluane National Park in Yukon Territory, Canada that I needed to get to and the university I was hired by asked myself and a few other techs to drive a work vehicle from Guelph, Ontario to Kluane. This was the most epic roadtrip I have ever been on that lasted a week (60+ hours of driving) and took us across five provinces and one territory and let me truly appreciate how massive my country is and how diverse its landscapes are. We drove though snow covered mountains, were stopped by a herd of 60 bison crossing the road, and swam in hot springs in the middle of nowhere. Then at the end I got to spend two months camping and doing field work on red squirrels in one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Such a great experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love speaking about environmentalism with anyone who will listen and engage with me and love learning about other people's passions too.
