Salut! Je m’appelle Emilie. I’m 22 years old. Half slovak, half french. Currently studying in Lund but lived most of my life in Bratislava (the capital of Slovakia: not Slovenia, nor Russia).

I like people and I like life (most of the time). The best part of it is discovering new places with their own atmosphere (=vibe), the views of the countryside and the points of view of people, being in the mountains or just chilling around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I like every concept that offers a little bit of an alternative way of doing things and that connects people and makes them cooperate between them out of “the system” and just because they want to, not because they have to.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything except of kpop which is just unacceptable and “unlistenable”. My tastes change from week to week, currently I like reggae/dub a lot. Something I can always listen to is for example Manu Chao, and I admit that I am also a big fan of Rihanna and sometimes I like superficial stupid rap or old school bangers like Nancy Sinatra.
Honestly, for the past year I’ve been watching only The Office :), but some movies and series that stay in my mind are Breaking bad and Better call Saul ofc, The Skins, Heavenly creatures, Hunger games or Fontána pre Zuzanu (a slovak classic).
I used to read a looot and anything that crossed my path, now I started a book last summer and still didn’t finish, (sometimes it’d be like that).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, one random thing I can think of right now is hiking with a friend in High Tatras (mountains in Slovakia), picking mushrooms on our way and settling ourselves in a high located camp. We ate the mushrooms, (edible, not magic ones, don’t get too excited), for dinner since we didn’t have any other food and went to sleep. After 10 minutes we realised that our equipment wasn’t sufficient at all for sleeping in such heights so we slept right next to the fire and all I can tell is that the stars were beautiful and I’ve never smelled as bad as the next day.
