Hey!

My name is Emilie (23 years old). I grew up in a small town in Vermont, but have spent the last couple years living in Boston and abroad.

I graduated university last May and spent most of the last year living in Guatemala working in agriculture research. In August, I will begin a Masters program in Agroecology between universities in Norway and France. Right now, I am living in Nantes, France as a part-time English-teacher (but mostly focusing on learning French!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've never stayed with someone via Couchsurfing before but I think it could be more fun than just visiting a hostel by myself -- also a lot of my friends have had really good experiences meeting people from all over the world sooo I figured I'd give it a try :)

Interests

I absolutely love being out in the wild (I've perfected my campfire construction skills) and doing all those cliché outdoorsy things like hiking/swimming/kayaking/biking, but mostly just chilling in my hammock - I'm missing the mountains a lot these days but I hope to have more opportunities to use my backpack this summer

My favorite foods include: stir-frys with fresh veggies, cheese, breakfast sandwiches, anything with couscous, and chocolate-chip banana pancakes

I like most types of music, but especially funk, bluegrass, oldies, bands like Sigur Rós and Edward Sharpe, and then obviously Béyonce

I love the show Sherlock on Netflix, and Broad City always makes me laugh
