About Me
ABOUT ME
All about me...I might be described as a slightly crazy but nice person. Sometimes lost in thoughts, sometimes outgoing. My friends call me "Hörnchen", Squirrel, which does describe some parts of my character: I love to hide in my nest throughout the winter, but once outside I'm vivid - and sometimes a bit forgetful ;) But mostly harmles :)
But I also might be caring, serious, shy, optimistic, pessimistic.... or enthusiastic. I can be veeerrry enthusiastic :) That might be exhausting sometimes, but makes me easy to care for at other times: one might put me into a corner and I'll find something to get busy.
It really depends on the person I'm talking to, which side of me one gets to know.
PHILOSOPHY
Better ignite a light than railing about the darkness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I only had very good experiences. Still plan to revisite the best host I had in Manchester :)
Interests
I'm someone who can be interessted in nearly everything, even if it's normally seen as boring. That's why I usually like whatever I'm doing.
I normally have one topic at a time I'm very interessted in. When I started Couchsurfing I wrote: "forensic anthropology :) But there are not many people who would belive how interessting skelettons are..."
Now its Sign Language- even though I studied the grammar into some details, I'm still at a beginners level. And statistics! Ok, I'm not very good at it, but right now It's my favorite course at university. What else if the book in use is called "Statistics with SPSS - and sex and drugs and rock'n'roll!"?
And I really spend too much time at my computer....I have a lot of friends all over germany and europe, my family is spread over the globe, so i did got used to interact via chat. But having friends all over the places, I do travel a lot. Every weekend I'm at an other city: Hannover, Hamburg, Kassel, München...
I also like writing, planing new projects, kanuing, reading, movies, sewing, Pen & Paper Roleplays (1. Spirit of the Century, 2. Cthulhu, 3. Paranoia), Board Games (Dungeon Lords, Gloom) meeting with friends, getting to know new people and places. And I'm interessted in knowledge, getting to know new things, facts, stories...

Music, Movies, and Books
Books:
- "Fermats last theorem" by Simon Singh... I'm still at the process of reading it, because I read it to a good friend. And sometimes we need hours for one chapter, because he explains some basic mathematical things to me, or we talk and talk about prime numbers till 4 in the morning... And I was definitly not the math loving pupil at school!
I mostly like more scientificly orientated books at the moment, havent read that many books in the last few years. But what I liked:
-"The discovery of heaven"by Harry Mulish- this is a great example of my interrest in knowledge. I just loved how- beside the wonderfull story and the good style- you learn about so many different things.
-"The cidre house rules" by John Irving. I just love his style and his characters, and this is my favorite of his books.
- The "Nochnoi Dozor" books. I can read them again and again. Even though it doesn't appear like fantasy to me, I would say: the best fantasy book I've ever read! (Forget the movies... please!)
- "Flavia DeLuce"- a girl, interessted in poison and murder? Sounds perfect to me!
When it comes to music all I ask for is a very good melody. I can't name a whole music style I like- my taste is more complex- and seldom whole bands. At the moment its a Mix of Vivaldi, Soap&Skin, Gogol Bordello, Wet Spots, Leonard Cohen and so on....
Movies? Everythings mixed up. "Beyond silence" was a Film I loved for years... I also enjoyed "Shortbus, "Mary and Max" .... and although this sounds different I also like action movies. But I never found THE one.
And than there are series:
1. Firefly (what a shame! This was the very best one!)
2. Doctor Who!
3. Big Bang Theory
4. How I met your mother
5. Misfits
And some years ago:
6. NCIS
7. Scrubs
8. Bones
