About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Setting off to travel throughout Europe and Asia with my friend Carlee (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/carlee91), and anywhere else the wind may take me. Looking to enrich my knowledge of different cultures and histories.

ABOUT ME

Interested by history, science, arts, people in general. Wanting to travel and to learn as much as I can, diversify my knowledge and to have a better global understanding.

PHILOSOPHY

To thine ownself, be true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS and am currently traveling through Europe with my friend, Carlee (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/carlee91). She and I are both looking for new and fun opportunities to meet people and explore new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a few times now, and have only positive things to say. This community is absolutely amazing, and having had the opportunity to meet the people I did were the highlights to those cities visited.

Interests

I am a student, taking time off from school to travel. I like to explore and being outdoorsy, but also can be a huge nerd and play video games (especially zombie ones) and watch movies for hours. I like to consider myself easy going, and enjoy trying new things. I enjoy bicycling everywhere, spending time with friends, reading, and finding new music. From time to time, I like to be active with yoga, running, and used to play a lot of ice hockey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a train through Vietnam I was reading a Vietnamese phrase book with my travel partner. We were trying to learn how to count and say simple greetings. Our pronunciation was horrible, and we eventually had the entire section of the train (who were all Vietnamese and not one could speak English) teaching us how to pronounce things through gestures and objects. It was unforgettable.

In Saigon, Vietnam, I was walking through this square and I came across a large group of kids playing with oversized shuttle cocks and frisbees. I spent the evening, unable to communicate through words, playing with the kids. Getting to know them even with a language barrier was incredibly gratifying and an absolutely unforgettable experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I tend to be a sponge for information. I enjoy sharing what I've learned with others. I also enjoy playing with photography, doing yoga every once in a while, and showing others the crazy stuff I can find all over the internet.
