ABOUT US

We are in our 30's. We love hikking, bike touring, and travelling ! Sharing simple meals and conversations as we are (very ) curious about other types of food and about the people who cook it ;-)

My partner is a carpenter ( see his blog https://ronancharpentier.wordpress.com/ ).

We live in Crest, a small town in France which is close to the Alps and the Vercors mountains. It is a great place for hiking, outdoors activities and with lively producers markets.

PHILOSOPHY

Tough question, if you want to get a smart answer.... I would say it is an on-going process :-) So far, we have been really concerned about environmental issues which lead you to wonder how you can in your daily life be coherent with your thinking and we try to adjust ourselves.

Last but not least : experience things by ourselves. We better travel and meet people to understand whats going on in other countries and cultures than just watching news on TV ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My partner and I travelled for 6 months, started in Perth early january 2018 and came back in France through east Asia, China and then taking the transsiberian train till Mosow. We have been lucky to be hosted in China and Russia through Couchsurfing.

Before I couchsurfed when I had travelled in Canada in 2011 cause it is really for me the best way to enjoy the country through its people :-) I also really like to meet people, I will never meet in my daily life because they dont have the same centers of interstes, the same age or the same social backgrounds.

We dont see CS at all as a way to save money for accomadation ( I would even think that sometimes it is cheaper to go to an hostel and have cheap meal for us than be happy to cook and share a good meal with our hosts :-)

Algo increíble que he hecho

It is hard to select, in 2012 I just loved riding every other day close to the pacific ocean, and see its blue color changed as we were going south with our sustainable bike touring project from San Fransisco california till Oaxaca Mexico. Actually the whole bike ride was amazing ......

Beeing able to discover some places in Western Africa throught a former job and understanding the necessity of seeds and farming through my current job.

I really enjoyed meeting people in the country side of the places I am visiting such as Indeginous tribues and be able to take part in their gatherings.
