About Me
Hi!
I’m a 30 y.o Franco-British female traveller. 3 years ago, I took what was meant to be a "short" career break... I fell in love with travelling and am still on the road! I spent the past 2 and a half years in Latin America, a continent that has won my heart and is deeply engrained in my soul. It has been an absolute joy to be able to dig deeper beneath the surface, go off the beaten track, and really understand different cultures by taking a slower approach to travel.
My current plan is to get to know my own country, France, a lot better. In October, I head off to explore the African continent!
It's the people and the human interractions I have had that have really made my travels. I really enjoy learning about new viewpoints through conversation and especially enjoy sharing experiences and ideas. Meeting new people is amazing, and i'm always up for having a laugh and sharing some time together! That is, for me, a real appeal of couchsurfing. I hope to be able to share a really nice experience with people living in the area to understand it better and learn more about it! Whilst making new friends :-)
I really enjoy going off the beaten track and feel so grateful for all of the amazing unexpected experiences and encounters I have made that way! Whilst I can enjoy larger cities for the cultural aspects and the "buzz," my heart really lies in the small villages and nature. I am a very keen hiker - I have tackled many multi-day treks, including at high altitude, most usually self-guided. The main draw is being in nature, but I really enjoy the physical challenge, too. Mountains, coast line, forests, natural reserves... I love them all and also enjoy spotting animals both on land and at sea (I'm an advanced diver).
I am passionate about exploring local gastronomy (food and wine combined) and will often build my travel plans around trying local specialities or visiting farms / vineyards / food production centres. At home, I cooked a lot, and my cookbook collection (150+!) helped me travel to other countries without leaving my flat by learning about food customs and recreating local dishes to the best of my abilities! :-)
As a curious person, I love to explore new things. I am really grateful to have already had the ability to travel to many amazing places and can’t wait to expand my memory bank with new experiences. Aside from food and travel, I really enjoy learning about history, culture, and politics, visiting art museums and galleries, and appreciating admiring the beauty of old buildings.
Anyway. Enough about me. I look forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling with time, for me, most definitely includes the amazing opportunity to connect with locals on a deeper level. I am really excited to meet new people through couchsurfing - I’d love to learn more about you, your views on life, the local culture and just in general spend some time hanging out together (if this is also what you’d like, i’m easy!)
I am planning on combining couchsurfing, workaway volunteering and solo travel to make the most of my time travelling.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Very happy to share conversation with my hosts and spend time out and about together.
We can talk about anything, from politics, culture, art, music, to having a laid back discussion and a laugh over a beer, or a deeper conversation about personal experiences, life ambitions, views on the meaning of life... Anything really!
As mentioned above I really enjoy cooking and so perhaps we could cook together, or I can cook for you!
