Hello everyone! I'm brand new on couchsurfing, so here's a little about me: my name is Emilien (as you already guessed), I'm a 22 years old student-ish (finished college two years ago) who's taking a year off to enjoy my time while I still have the time! I am a sport and a music addict: I play the guitare and the piano, and actually compose music (nothing big or pretentious) with my computer. Music has a very special place in my heart, as I'm always either listening to music, playing music, or just singing or dancing … Apart from that, I’m a super curious guy, I like to travel around and meet people because 1/ it’s sooo nice to meet people from other places, with different views on things and 2/ because I like making new friends and connection !

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I want to travel around and meet new people and discover new cultures. I would love it if I could develop a lot, but there's really not much to say : I am super curious, and I'm basically always looking forward to meeting people from around the world, and chatting with them, because it makes me think differently, it helps being a genuinely better person, and gives so many different perspectives on life! That is why I think Couchsurfing is a perfect fit for me.

音乐、电影和书籍

I'm a music addict, so it would be really hard for me to say what my favorite songs are. I listen to all music genres, and basically enjoy anything. My favorites movies are Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean and fight club, but mostly because they are movies I’ve watched when I was younger, so they have a special nostalgic feeling I guess. And for books, I really started reading recently (like a couple of months ago) and I’m a huge fan of Albert Camus! I’ve read most of his books, and always enjoyed them, especially “The Fall” (that I often recommend). The last books I read were “Steppenwolf” by Hermann Hesse (one of the best book I’ve ever read) and “1984” by George Orwell.

I don’t think I’ve done anything particularly amazing, but I worked full time in an NGO that helps migrants, homeless and poor people in the suburbs of Paris, and it was an amazing experience for me.

I would love to talk with you about culture, like the French one - or at least my experience of it - but also about philosophy, literature (I have a lot to learn in that area, I started reading "for real" a couple months ago), politics, environment… I’ve had the chance to study abroad (studied in Hong Kong 2 years ago, during the Hong Kong protests) and not only met international students like me, with whom we talked during hours about life and stuffs, but also locals, fighting for the survival of their country. It was an amazing experience as well, and I would love to have millions of other memories like those ones, hence my choice to travel with Couchsurfing!
