About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go, see, learn, discover, explore, grow

ABOUT ME

Hi. My name is Emily or Lila (or Emilila). You can pick. Mostly I spend my time these days learning as much as I possibly can as a university student and as a human being. My brain tends to jump from place to place but the rest of me is fairly grounded. I love listening to stories. The Moth is a weekly ritual. Don't know it? Its a free podcast on iTunes. Look it up.

For hosts- I am from North Carolina in the States and lived there for almost all my life, so I love to travel. I've lived in New Mexico and I´m currently living in Valparaíso Chile. Not sure what my plan is next, but I´m hoping that I can figure it out as I go. No need to entertain me, but I love good conversation, good food and adventure. I'm game for pretty much anything.

For surfers- Right now, I'm living in Cerro Concepción. We have a potential couch, but we are currently on pause because of a series of family visits. The house will be quite filled with family through out december and january.

PHILOSOPHY

In general and in the house we try to learn, love, laugh, share and respect one another. We are a house of four and a cat, but we live quite harmoniously. My flat mates are Chilean and all wildly interesting.

Surfing and hosting. I understand the challenges of traveling on a budget and want to be part of the network of travelers that want to help make adventure possible for others. I want to believe that you don´t have to be loaded to see the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The summer I turned nineteen, I went on a three week road trip with my best friend/soulmate to the southwest of the United States. This completed the first part of our "All fifty states in ten years" goal.
We hiked the Grand Canyon. I have never been so humbled by a geological formation.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love this concept. I think this is sending the world in the right direction. Yes!

What I have to offer knowledge wise..... hmmm. My understanding of chemistry and engineering will forever be a work in progress, but I can still share a thing or two. I love to cook, but I have a pretty bad habit of making things too spicy.
