I think it's so much better to get to know places through people who have actually known and experienced it first hand than through travel guides. And even if you or I are too busy to play tour guide, staying with someone gives a very different perspective compared to a ho(s)tel stay. Also, I won't lie, I like to travel cheaply! Plus, hosting is an awesome idea, because it seems like a great way to meet people from all over the place when I can't travel myself.

Interessi

Writing songs on the guitar is my favourite thing to do, playing with other people or simply listening. I love to travel... eat good food... attempt to make good food... I enjoy playing basketball, riding through Edinburgh on my bike (but walks are good too!)... learning about history and languages and cultures, particularly China.

Musica, film e libri

Good movies! (I'm not that fussy , I enjoy most films, but I'm recently trying to work my way through studio Ghibli)
Anything with an acoustic guitar in it, indie, folk, indie folk, bit of punk, bit of electro/house (MOBY). Sam Gellaitry is a cool new artist to me. I enjoy Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, Soul, but am not amazingly well educated in it. Also some Classical and jazz (Bill Evans!) ... and chart stuff has its place too. I enjoy pretty much any music.
The Great Gatsby, Stieg Larsson's crime/thriller trilogy, Ian Rankin (cos it's awesome to read stuff that's set where you're living)... historical fiction, especially by Conn Iggulden. Othello is great.

I can teach basic German or Spanish or just practice with you. I could also teach a bit of guitar, or jam. Singing / playing together is the best. But I'll also gladly just play a song or two to anyone that asks. Feedback is always welcome! When I have time I like showing people round my city. I'll happily talk about places I've visited / talk about most things... Most of all I like to listen to others' stories, experiences, opinions...
