Über mich
My mission is to travel the world, but not city-to-city so much as person-to-person, and experience-to-experience.
I travel full time. This tends to be on-and-off, but the current "on" period is since May 2015.
I work in a combination of on-line/off-line where I will spend several months working on the road, and then a month at a time in one location to facilitate events, workshops, or growth consulting for new product teams.
I travel 99% of the time with my business and life partner Melissa. She's a way cooler person that I am! :)

I like to know the places I go rather than just see them, and ultimately would love to climb the highest peaks, dive the deepest oceans and visit every country in the world. #idealist ;)
However, I've been of the mindset that if you don't walk away from every day having enjoyed it to the fullest, something needs to change. It's very difficult to strike the work/life balance we all seek, and the few that have cracked it are my true heroes.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I've surfed, I've hosted, and both are always an adventure.
It's been a true pleasure being part of this network for so many years; and my spontaneous use of it has been the basis of now long-lasting friendships.
Whether or not CS gets used all the time, the mindset behind it's users are what has enabled me to travel the world and meet 1000s of new people; CS is a great way to kickstart that effort in a new place. :)

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
There is no--and never should be--only one!
However...
Once got drunks with Georgian mountain villagers with big knives, some dead sheep, and WHOLE lot of chacha (an often 60-70 proof bathtub brew common to Georgia).
To this day I have NO idea what they were saying the entire time; and the walk down the mountain was ridiculous as we were hammered; I have footage of us sliding down muddy paths mostly naked. We regretted this later that evening...
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Teach:
I love to teach, and am happy to share any of the skills I have with hosts and their friends.
Learn:
I love to learn. And I love learning how to learn. If you have a skill I don't, I want to learn it!
Sharing:
“Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious.”

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I've been told over and over again that I am a very easy guest.
I really don't expect you to do anything more than give me a spot on the floor to crash, but am really excited when you want to show me your town, share an experience, or try something new with us.
I've done a few interesting things, and worked in a variety of places and industries, so I'm always happy if I can lend you my experience whether it be practical or philosophical.
