Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had no couchsurfing experience! I want to try sometime. I'm a little nervous about it, but I hope this will turn out to be really fun.

Interests

Film, all kinds. I love to explore foreign film, and maybe that's how I caught the travel bug. Music is my life. I also enjoy cooking, but I don't really know how yet.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Love finding new kinds of music, recently discovering Balkan music. Creative music with a focus on songwriting, especially Joanna Newsom, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nick Drake, Devendra Banhart, Elliott Smith, Gillian Welch, and the Decemberists. Also, indie rock like the Arcade Fire, the New Pornographers, the White Stripes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I love the Pixies.

Film:
Recent: 3-iron, amelie, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, hedwig and the angry inch, and hot fuzz.
Not as Recent: harold and maude, vertigo, and breathless.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most recently, the Scottish highlands, which are beautiful and not to be missed. Go hiking there - take lots of pictures, it's one of few places where you can't take a bad photo.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: folk/jazz/rock guitar, basic piano, basic knitting
Learn: Any instrument! I would also love to learn new ways to cook, so that I can bring the taste of the places I go home with me.
