About Me

I grew up moving around a lot, so there's something about being in a new place that feels like home for me. I've still never lived anywhere for more than four years. All of that movement has made me adaptable & open-minded & endlessly curious about this weird world we all live in. I think traveling is the best way to learn.

I just graduated from the University of Washington & am spending the next few months abroad. Right now I'm planning on going through the UK, Portugal, Morocco, Spain, & eastern Europe, but who knows where I'll end up -- hopefully your couch!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing brings together my two favorite things -- new people, new places. I think the whole point of traveling is meeting new people & seeing the world from their perspective. Couchsurfing is a great way to do that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I recently read The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy & it blew me away.

Music: Jose Gonzalez is a consistent fave. Been listening to a lot of Tame Impala lately. Always looking for new suggestions!

Movies: I have a thing for comedians playing serious roles. Dan in Real Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Away We Go, Stranger Than Fiction... I don't know what it is about 'em but I love it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I caught 13 piranhas in the Amazon once using only a piece of string & a hook & some meat.
