À propos de moi
Travel and adventure are my two favorite things. Ask me for some crazy stories about swimming next to icebergs or eating berries with black bears and I will be happy to tell you! I'm a marine biologist so I get to see and work in some really cool places. I am always looking for the next adventure though... Wanna come?
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I love going on adventures and meeting people I never would have had a chance to otherwise. Couchsurfing let's me do both!
Centres d'intérêt
Science - I study ecology so I love learning how and why the world works the way it does. Pretty much everything from rocks to whales is interesting to me.
Art - I draw, paint, take photos, sing, and act (and even get paid to do those sometimes!)
Outdoors stuff - Swimming, SCUBA, hiking, backpacking, skiing, learning to climb and rappell. Want to learn mountaineering.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Having spent time as a teacher, I love sharing knowledge about nature and science; to me, showing people a seashell and explaining what lived in there and why it looks the way it does is really cool! However, my philosophy is that you learn best by doing and seeing, and because of this there is a natural tour guide in me. I love showing people things that are unique and off the beaten track. I also love teaching people about where I come from, my culture, and sharing my experiences.
When I travel, I don't really want to be a "tourist;" the real value is experiencing the culture and doing and seeing things that most people don't get the chance to. I love to make friends when I'm someplace new and learn what to do and see in a place from local knowledge. Often those are the coolest things! I also want to be immersed in the culture; I want to live in a place, even if I'm only visiting for a few days. Learning some of the language, learning about the food, learning about spiritual beliefs, and learning customs are integral parts of the traveling experience for me.
I want to learn about you, where you come from, what you think, and what you want to know more about. In turn I want to tell you the same things about me! It's always interesting to learn what other peoples' perceptions of your lifestyle, culture, or country are, and understand why that is.
