About Me
Hi ya'll! My name is Emily, and I'm originally from Orlando, Fl, USA. I have a deep rooted passion for travel, that started out when I was just two years old and went in my first cross country road trip. Since then I’ve gone away to college in New York, had the opportunity to go to Israel with Taglit-Birthright, studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, and most recently I was living in Thailand teaching English for the last two years! I’ve been to 44 countries, and 36 states!! I love to meeting people from all over the world (yes that means you!) and to hear their stories, and sharing my a few of my own! My favorite things are to be immersed in nature and new cultures. My dream want to make memories in every country in the world :)
I am an experienced couch surfer!! I’ve stayed with friends, friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends (aka total strangers who are now close friends, mostly from this app!) and I also travel a lot using volunteer exchange programs such as worldpackers and WOOF intl. I’m grateful to expand my global community :)

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite type of music is indie/folk - like Mumford and Son's and Hozier. I also love pop and rap - like Beyonce and Chance the Rapper. RecentlyI've been getting into tropical house. I'm really cool with anything, except for screamo lol sorry not sorry. My favorite movie is either Finding Nemo or Shrek...lol seriously. I also really love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. I've watched Friends 3 times over, and I just finished New Girl (hilarious, watch if you haven't). My favorite books are The Tale of Despereaux and Catcher in the Rye. I also really liked The Giver trilogy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I've done was go abroad my last semester of college! I was very anxious about being alone and so far from home for so long, but I became more confident in myself, more sure of myself, and more comfortable with myself than I ever thought possible. I met amazing people, saw amazing sights and ate some of the most incredible cuisines. It was very stressful, as it was my first time traveling alone and for so long, and little unexpected hiccups came up, but it was the best experience I could have hoped for, and it taught me so many lessons that I’ve continued to use throughout my travels (in my backyard and beyond!) and I'm excited to continue taking it all in.
I moved to Thailand to teach English and ended up staying for almost 2 years!! I got to explore most of Thailand and nearby south East Asian countries while I was there.
Another one is paragliding over the Swiss alps while solo backpacking Europe (this summer!!!!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a firm believer that people, innately, are always learning, and always teaching. Regardless of age! I love to learn, and to share what I've learned with others. Maybe it will impact them like it impacted me. Maybe we'll agree! Maybe we won't and that's ok! Having an open mind, and being willing to put yourself out there to learn from others, and hopefully inspire them in return, is all that any of us can really do or ask for. I don't care what language you speak, what God(s) you do or don't believe in, or what color your skin, hair, eyes, or nailpolish is - if you respect me, I respect you, and its all chill :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm quiet and polite, never high maintenance, and I've been told I'm sometimes funny. I'll want to hear your stories, and I'll probably ask you to tell me every secret and wonderful thing to do in your city. I am a yoga teacher and can lead you through gentle or power flows as well as breathwork and meditations! I also love to cook, so I can make you some of my specialties if you’re interested!! I can take care of your children, animals, or plants as needed as well!! I'm pretty go with the flow, and I'll probably leave you some cookies or wine when I leave :)
