About Me
Hello! I'm Emily, a 22 year old college student and nanny to some super cute kids. I'm excited to see more of the world after spending 9 months in New Zealand, and can't wait to start exploring Europe starting in March. I love spending time outside, meeting people, and generally saying yes to anything that could lead to a fun time. I love coffee, bread, and chocolate, and could tell you a lot about the latter after working as a tour guide for a big chocolate company in Michigan. My favorite being in the world is my black lab, Lola. When I get back from my travels, I'm planning to continue with university, studying environmental science. Looking forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love getting to experience other countries and cultures in the most authentic and interesting way possible, which is why I'd prefer to stay with locals instead of in a hostel. I'm also planning to WWOOF extensively while in Europe, and hope traveling this way will lead me to discover things I wouldn't have on my own while meeting awesome people
Interests
I love to swim more than anyone I know, and can rarely resist jumping in a body of water when I come across one. Hiking and camping have been passions of mine for a long time, and every summer I work as a counselor at a summer camp which is hugely fulfilling and a big part of my life.
I'm really into crafting, but I can't stick to just one thing for very long, and in the past few months, I have been embroidering, sewing, painting, drawing, and wood burning.
I play the piano, not very well, but I enjoy it and try to learn new songs when I have the time.
I am extremely interested in politics and global issues, and love to discuss social justice and the current American presidential race. (Donald Trump is evil and crazy).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After 10 years of being a vegetarian, I ate a moose steak last summer. Not actually that amazing, but it felt pretty crazy at the time!
I hitchhiked around New Zealand by myself when I was 18, which seems to impress a lot of people (it was actually really safe, fun, and easy).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm easygoing and a really considerate house guest. I'll be fun to have around, if you'll have me!
I also give pretty cool hair wraps, so that's on the table if you're interested ;)
