Hey there! I'm Emily. I grew up in Minnesota, and have also spent some time living in Philadelphia and North Carolina. I recently moved to DC after finishing my master of public health degree and am still figuring out the city, but I would love to explore with other couchsurfers!

I like mornings, biking, looking at maps, climbing, hiking and camping, crafts, street art, and cooking. I like to talk about health equity, policy, food, environmental issues, weird/cool things that have happened while biking, human behavior, and weird/cool things you've done while traveling.

I joined Couchsurfing meet and get to know locals while traveling. Since then, I've met and hosted other Couchsurfers in my city. I've really enjoyed how it brings locals and travelers together to explore together and exchange stories.

Depends on what the host is looking for. I am low-maintenance, clean, and flexible. I can share stories, listen to your stories, and cook for you. If you like showing off your city, I'd be an enthusiastic companion, but I also can be totally independent if you're busy. I'm also happy to return the hosting favor by hosting/connecting you to hosts in the future.
