About Me

Hey! I’m Emily.

These kinds of greetings are tough. How does one explain themselves in a short, online bio? Well, here is my attempt with a cheesy, acrostic poem.

E- eager. I’m eager, eager to see more, to do more, to learn more, to be more, to meet more, etc.

M- mindful. Something I’m constantly working on is being aware of my role in this world. This includes how I can: become more aware, further educate myself, give back, help others, be a better version of myself.

I- independent. I prefer doing a lot of things on my own, like traveling.

L- loving. Whether it’s bugs, our earth, a wild animal, or an inanimate object, I’ll love it unconditionally and probably irrationally too much.

Y- youthful. I’m a firm believer that, although you must grow old, you never have to grow up. I will always have a fun, free-spirited mindset about life and all of my endeavors. (Maturity doesn’t equate with responsibility).

Long story short:

I’m a 24-year-old American who is passionate about traveling and experiencing new cultures. Life is not meant to be lived in one place!
I’m friendly and outgoing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have traveled quite a bit now, and have always heard such positive, amazing things about CS and thought, “it’s time to check it out myself!”

One of my favorite and most rewarding parts of traveling is the people I meet and the new relationships I form. The more individuals I meet, the more I learn- about the world and about myself, and thus, the more I grow.
And what’s better than that?

Music, Movies, and Books

I don’t discriminate when it comes to movies & books (or literally ever for that matter). I’ll watch any movie or read any book recommended to me.
My favorite genres are comedy, animation, psychological thrillers, & anything involving history!

Concerts and music festivals are a big part of my life and probably the top thing I spend my money on (tied with traveling & food). I enjoy anything from classic rock, to EDM, to pop/hip hop, to indie, to alternative rock, to folk, to country, I’m open to it all.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’ve taught English as a second language for over a year now and am very passionate about it. I am also passionate about and open to learning any language. Unfortunately, English is the only language I am
fluent in, but have dabbled in French, German & Korean.

What I Can Share with Hosts
