I am from Kansas, and I have lived in Bogota, Colombia, and Pai, Thailand. Currently living in Pai and studying Thai. I started traveling in September 2016. Before traveling the world I worked for 7 years with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm interested in meeting locals when traveling and getting more immersed in the local culture, as well as making new friends. I would love to do more hosting at some point when I have a place with sufficient space.

I love doing things outdoors, especially hiking and camping. I love mountains, rivers, and lakes much more than islands and beaches.

Whenever I visit a new city I'm always on the lookout for great food, cool street art, and live music. I like wandering around without an agenda and getting blissfully lost...I think this is the best way to discover a city!

I like playing board games and card games. My favorites are Cribbage, 500 Rummy, Spot It!, Shithead, Spoons, and Cards Against Humanity. I'm also up for learning new games!

I used to do a lot of baking, but nowadays I do more cooking. I love cooking and trying new recipes, and learning how to cook local dishes when I travel.

I would rather go to a dive bar than a night club. I'm also good with just chilling at home and watching Netflix.

I like a random assortment of music. I don't like metal, hard rock, punk...that sort of thing. But most anything else from old to new I enjoy. I go to a Bluegrass/Folk music festival in Kansas every year.

TV - Friends, Schitt's Creek, Grace and Frankie, Queer Eye, Breaking Bad, The Umbrella Academy, Casa de Papel, telanovalas, and anything travel/food-related.

Books - The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck, 1984, The Alchemist, Brave New World, Three Cups of Tea, Gods Who Behave Badly, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Scruples, How To Travel The World On $50 A Day, and murder mysteries. Also, anything I can pick up along my travels that's in English! I love reading and learning new things.

Introducing my mom to Couchsurfing and international travel. We couchsurfed together in France on her very first trip abroad. She has traveled with me in France, Spain, Thailand, and more to come!

In general, I love learning new things! Now that I am traveling all over the world I have developed more of an interest in language and learning new languages, or learning some basic phrases such as how to introduce myself. I also love learning how to cook local food.
