About Me

Hello! I'm a kindergarten teacher at an IB school in China. I'm a career teacher and my passion is social justice education. I also consider an essential part of my teaching/praxis/existence activism to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met an awesome couple backpacking Vietnam and they told me to try couchsurfing. So far I've backpacked and stayed in hostels around Southeast Asia and I didn't know about CS. I am really outgoing and love sharing travel stories and adventures so I thought this would be a cool way to meet interesting people! I'm going to Japan for Chinese New Year so I thought this would be a good chance to try it out. I'm brand new to this but I always meet cool people when I travel so I'm hoping this is an extension of that!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode on the roof of a jeepny along the winding roads of Sagada while munching on balut in the Phillipines? Watched the sun rise and hot air balloons fill the sky while perched on a temple overlooking thousands of ancient crumbling temples in Bagan. I was researching in a rural hospital in Mali when the coup happened? I chased a still beating cobra heart with vodka in Vietnam (I hope the vegans and vegetarians of the world can still be my friend)

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: I can teach English? Or tell you about American culture from a very critical point of view. Or help you polish your English in your resume/application letters/important stuff. Or teach you how to teach young children critical thinking/problem solving/activism/and about social justice

LEARN: I am open to learning about anything. I would like to learn local cooking and basic language everywhere I go!

SHARE: time, stories, smiles, I am doing couchsurfing because I love to travel alone but for me shared experiences are the best and make the fondest memories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll cook for you, share travel stories and pictures, go on adventures with you, pay you cash!
